More FM Tauranga
More FM tauranga, part of the RadioWorks Bay of Plenty group of radio stations, provided the Mount Reef Trust with a huge air time package reflecting the radio station's commitment to the reef and giving the trust a massive opportunity to continue strong community support. RadioWorks Bay of Plenty General Manager John Bedford feels it's an incredible honour to be a part of a record-breaking event like the formation of New Zealand's first artificial surf reef. The air time will be utilised to give the reef sponsors top-level profile as well as reducing the advertising cost for surf competitions and events that come to the region.

Tauranga City Council
Since its earliest times, local government in the region has been progressive, innovative and responsible for such assets as HydroElectric Power Schemes, the Kaimai tunnel and, in more recent years, construction of the Harbour Bridge and the Waikareao Expressway. The Tauranga City Council has continued that tradition by putting in place planning provisions and bylaws to encourage growth and development within the region and supporting exciting projects such as the Mount Reef.

Tauranga Energy Consumer Trust
TECT (Tauranga Energy Consumer Trust) owns 89.8 million shares in TrustPower Ltd which it holds on behalf of its Beneficiaries - those being supplied power by TrustPower in the territories of the Tauranga City and Western Bay Councils. TECT's income from its TrustPower dividends is distributed to community groups through a number of funding schemes and by way of annual cheques to its 60,000 Beneficiaries. For the year ending 31 March 2005 TECT distributed $19.5m to its Beneficiaries and community organisations. TECT is pleased to contribute $250,000 from its Major Amenities Fund to the Mount Reef Project. TECT Trustees were keen to support the development of a significant visitor icon in the Bay of Plenty region. Along with the potential economic growth, the Mount Reef is an innovative recreational facility that will benefit not only the local community but national and international visitors alike. Trustees commend the Mount Reef Trust for their dedication on making the project a reality.

BayTrust
The BayTrust makes donations to community groups serving the Bay, in order to help build, strengthen and enhance local Communities. In the year to March 2005 the Trust paid out donations totalling over $2m to groups serving Bay of Plenty Communities. In February 2005 $71,250 was approved by way of scholarships to people with disabilities undertaking tertiary study.

Green Thistle Sporting Trust
The Green Thistle Sporting Trust is a charitable trust established under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957.  The primary purpose of the Trust is to raise funds for sporting and recreational purposes and secondly the raising of funds to benefit charitable, cultural and educational purposes that will assist local communities.

Western Bay of Plenty District Council
The Western Bay of Plenty District Council (WBOPDC) administers a region fully surrounding Tauranga city. Incorporating an area stretching to the Kaimais and settlements like Te Puke, Katikati, Waihi Beach, Rangiuru and Paengaroa, the WBOPDC manages an ever increasing population. The WBOPDC has directed part of its City Investment Programme contribution towards the Mount Reef in acknowledgement of the reef being a regional asset for all in the greater western BOP to enjoy.
